A Letter to Them

My family comes from a lineage of storytelling. From generation to generation, we have passed down our experiences, beliefs, and values through this art. It is through these narratives that we connect with each other and with our roots, and we learn to make sense of the world around us.

Botanical Heritage

Botanical medicine has been used for thousands of years to treat various ailments. Bush medicine is a traditional form of healing in the Bahamas that has been used for centuries by the Bahamian people. It involves the use of local plants and herbs to treat a range of health conditions.

The natural ecosystem in the Bahamas plays an important role in supporting the economy and cultural heritage of the country. However, it is also under threat from climate change, overfishing, tourism, and and habitat destruction. Efforts are underway to protect and conserve these important ecosystems.
While the fashion industry may not be as big in the Bahamas as in some other countries, it is definitely an important part of the culture and economy, and there is a growing recognition of the talent and creativity of Bahamian designers and artisans. This is a valuable opportunity for the Bahamas in the international textile market. Combining sustainable and healthy practices already established in ecological preservation with textile development will further diversify its economy.
