Samuel Pickett

Samuel Pickett (‘22 CFDA scholarship winner and ‘21 FSF Scholar) is a New York based designer and graduate from Parsons School of Design ‘23. Samuel’s process originates by analyzing fragments of organic matter and the phenomenon of putrefaction where spontaneity naturally emerges. The instinctive nature of his design practice as well as his advocacy for salvation of materials parallels this naturally occurring process of finding beauty in decay and fragmentation. Samuel believes that continuity in his design approach and his materials is critical. Therefore, the entirety of the materials used are not only made of natural fibers, but sourced from small jobbers throughout the world which ensures pre-existing and recycled yardage.
