Bio

MEGAN RODRIGUES is a multidisciplinary artist and designer who centers her practice on dressing and addressing the human experience, both externally and internally. She is inspired by her personal background growing up in a multicultural environment in her hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii, as well as her interest in organic form and movement. Early on, Megan had developed an affinity for painting and photography, which has now evolved to a love for textile manipulation and garment construction. She still draws influence from her earlier mediums through use of print, color, and silhouette.

Now a BFA Fashion Design graduate of Parsons School of Design, Megan has developed an appreciation for textiles and material experimentation, which has become a focal point of her designs. Mixing woven, cut and sew jersey, and handmade textiles is a common motif seen throughout many of her projects, often manifesting in unique, patchworked garments.  Above all, Megan values the expression and feeling that clothing imbues onto people as an extension of the self and the body. In the future, Megan hopes to collaborate with artists and designers from around the world and to continue learning and experimenting with new and innovative methods for textile design, patternmaking, and garment construction.
